Ralphie Aversa | Create Your Badge

Ralphie Aversa spent 2008 covering a historic Presidential Election, interviewing A-List celebrities, breaking national stories, and hosting some of the biggest parties in Scranton.

‘Cause ain’t no party like a Scranton party.

The multimedia reporter/host began his career at WKSE/Kiss 98.5 in Buffalo, NY – the radio station he grew up listening to. A product of Niagara Falls (NY), Ralphie gained acceptance in to the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.

From 2003-2007, Aversa hosted a top-rated weeknight radio show in Syracuse on WWHT/Hot 107-9, while moonlighting at CHR stations in Buffalo and Burlington, VT (WVTK). In addition, he covered Syracuse University Athletics and AAA Syracuse Chiefs Baseball on NPR/News/Sports station WAER.

Next up – television. Ralphie entered the medium hosting a one-hour block of music videos for Underground Video Television. That provided him with reel material to land a gig at WCNY-TV. Aversa hosted a music showcase and a game show for the PBS affiliate.

Then during his senior year, while working at four radio stations and the PBS affiliate, Ralphie helped MSNBC launch it’s “On Campus” program, reporting on national TV about a student matricide case.

Aversa jetted down I-81 in August 2007 for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, PA – bringing his weeknight radio show to WBHT/97 BHT. In the short time he’s spent in Northeastern PA, Ralphie has scored exclusive interviews with presidential candidates (Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton), chart-topping artists (Rihanna, Fall Out Boy, T.I.) and award-winning movie stars (Matt Damon, Edie Falco). In addition, Ralphie has broken national stories involving everyone from Sarah Palin to Ne-Yo.

Ralphie continues to host his weeknight radio show, while fielding various web-video projects in the tri-state area, guest appearing on local television, and seeking out his next TV project. Occasionally, he'll also attempt to have a life outside of work, but only in moderation.
